35mm Stills and Slide Projection Workshop

35mm Stills and Slide Projection Workshop

Venue Old GMC Complex
Discipline Public Arts
Project by Harkat Studio

Date 20 Dec | 21 Dec
Time 10:00 am - 01:00 pm

This 2-day 35mm photo workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn the basics of shooting and developing 35mm black and white stills. All materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own film camera if that is more comfortable for you.

In line with Harkat's curatorial at SAF, Andar Baahar, the workshop begins with a photo walk, where participants set out each with a camera in hand, with the prompt to shoot the public spaces around them. Participants will later learn to develop their film rolls into positive film slides. On day 2 we will learn how to use film slide projectors, how one can use them as a moving-image device, and collectively compile a moving sequence of images. The aim is to explore the possibilities and performance of a film made from still images. The slide projection sequence will be played at the INOX courtyard after the workshop ends.

Disclaimer: We would like to thank you all for your overwhelming response to the Festival! It is this enthusiasm that makes our return to Panjim all the more special. Performances and workshops have limited seating. Those who had pre-registered for a performance/workshop will be given preference for entry. Beyond that, if seats are left, entry will be allowed on a first come first serve basis.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.
